Are We There Yet?

Anyone with kids will cringe at the incessant “Are we there yet?” questions during roadtrips. I am hearing a lot of the same coming from adult investors these days.

First off, the answer is “NO” - we are not there yet.

When I am asked that question by children - I usually try to manage their expectations and hope this will preempt the interrogatory a mile down the road and a mile after that and so on. I usually tell them how long the total trip is, how long we have traveled and more importantly - how they will recognize when we are almost there. This strategy has not been successful with children, but maybe I’ll have better luck with adults.

I won’t disclose exactly what details and levels I am looking for, but here are four areas that I expect will encourage me to feel the selling is over.
